Various versions of Samba are susceptible to vulnerabilities which when successfully exploited could lead to disclosure of sensitive information, addition or modification of data, or Denial of Service (DoS). Workarounds

StorageGRID (formerly StorageGRID Webscale):
Samba is used only on Admin nodes to export audit logs via SMB. Samba was deprecated in StorageGRID 11.1, no longer runs by default starting with version 11.3 and will be completely removed in the next major release.

Use the command "service smbd status" to determine if Samba is running on an Admin node. If Samba is running open a support case for assistance with disabling it.
