Summary
Multiple NetApp products implement the SMB protocol. Systems that implement the SMB protocol can be susceptible to a remote unauthenticated attack referred to as SMBLoris that can cause a system to allocate large amounts of memory and lead to a Denial of Service (DoS) condition.
Impact
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may lead to a Denial of Service (DoS) condition.

Workarounds
For Samba products the smb.conf file can be edited to modify the the max smbd processes value to 1000 from the default (0). There is no need to perform this change on fixed versions of software. Additionally, avoid exposing port 445 to untrusted networks.
