Summary

Data ONTAP versions prior to 8.2.5, 8.3.2P12, and 9.0 contain a flaw in the handling of certain user input strings which may allow an authenticated user to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) condition. Users are encouraged to upgrade to a fixed version of Data ONTAP.

Impact

An authenticated user may cause a Denial of Service (DoS) condition by entering crafted strings into certain commands or APIs.
