Summary

StorageGRID and StorageGRID Webscale incorporate Samba. Samba versions 3.5.0 and later are susceptible to a remote code execution vulnerability which could permit an attacker to upload a shared library and then cause the Samba server to load and execute the library. Other NetApp products such as ONTAP are not affected by this vulnerability as they do not make use of Samba software. This advisory will be updated as additional information becomes available.

Impact

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may lead to unauthorized remote code execution on a StorageGRID or StorageGRID NAS Bridge server.
